Hervey Bay Allergy and Immunology Clinic
Specialist Allergy and Immunology Care for Hervey Bay Patients
Queensland Allergy & Immunology Clinic provides specialist assessment and management of allergic and immune system conditions for patients across Hervey Bay, Urangan, Torquay, Pialba, Point Vernon and the wider Fraser Coast. We diagnose and treat food allergy, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), eczema, chronic urticaria (hives), angioedema, asthma-related allergy, drug allergy, immunodeficiency, and immune-mediated inflammatory disorders.
Specialist allergy and immunology care isn't something every region has easy access to, and a long wait for a local appointment shouldn't be the only option. Telehealth consultations are available if suitable for your situation, so much of your assessment and ongoing care can happen without a trip to the Sunshine Coast. When in-person testing is needed, our clinic at Pulse Specialist Centre in Birtinya (next to Sunshine Coast University Hospital) is set up to get it done in a single visit wherever possible.

How to See a Specialist from Hervey Bay
Your GP refers you to Queensland Allergy & Immunology Clinic, noting your symptoms and history. Dr Yu reviews the referral, and our team will confirm whether your first appointment is best done in person at Birtinya or by telehealth, depending on what's being assessed.
If skin prick testing or another in-person procedure is required, this is arranged as a single trip to the Birtinya clinic where possible, rather than multiple visits. Blood-based specific IgE testing can often be arranged through your local pathology provider and reviewed via telehealth, without travel.
Once a diagnosis and management plan are in place, ongoing review can often continue by telehealth if suitable, in coordination with your Fraser Coast GP for day-to-day care.
